First Holy Communion
First Holy Communion is a very important step in your child’s faith formation.
In preparation for it they will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time and share in the Eucharist meal.
This is a great time of development spiritually and mentally for the children.
Mentally they are beginning to discover they belong to a bigger community, with their school mates and friends.
Spiritually, they receive the food they need for their Faith journey.
In the coming year, we will be preparing children for FIRST PENANCE and FIRST HOLY COMMUNION.
We invite you along with your child to decide if you would like to be part of this programme of preparation for these Sacraments.
When you brought your child to the Church to be baptized you promised to commit to bring your child up in the practice of the faith.
As we continue this journey, it will be an important time for all involved as we grow together in faith and love.
Home is the heart of each child’s journey of faith and it will be important that you,
and your child fully engage with the programme of preparation.
Throughout the year, there will be special Masses of preparation that we will invite you to attend as well.
